This month Dec 2021, I reached out to Marco Guerrero and asked him if he would like to interview me as an ex- energy healer.
I felt prompted that I needed to do this as a type of repentance but also to be an instrument in the Lord's hands to help anyone else who might be searching for answers on this topic.
This is my story...
Last September 2020 the Lord invited me to pack up my energy healing and coaching business(of 5 years). Three months later the handbook was updated:38.7.8
Latter-day Saints “are discouraged from seeking miraculous or supernatural healing from an individual or group that claims to have special methods for accessing healing power outside of prayer and properly performed priesthood blessings. These practices are often referred to as ‘energy healing.’ Other names are also used. Such promises for healing are often given in exchange for money.”
In these past 15 months I have been praying to understand WHY energy healing is unacceptable to the church.
In the same month, (Sept 2020) I came across Sister Wendy Nelson’s BYU address 'Becoming the Person You Were Born to Be', Jan 2016, she invited the students to participate in an experiment by going to Heavenly Father in prayer and asking a question then flipping open the scriptures and reading until you've found your answer. I was excited and keen to try this unusual way of receiving answers to prayer.
I asked the question, What lack I yet? And was taken to Hebrews 13.
In these scriptures I found I was told amongst other things to not be carried away with diverse and false doctrines, to be aware of adultery and also to sustain and pray for my leaders. It turned out all three of these counsels were paramount to my progression.
For the last 15 months I have had a recurring dream where I was having an affair. The dreams have been very similar and at the end before I wake up I remember that I am married.
Adultery as in the scriptures is synonymous with idolatry as both are wanting to satisfy instant gratification over rewarding results due to commitment and effort. It emphasizes unfaithfulness to the Saviour and His power.
I have been receiving my answer all along but never recognised it until the spirit whispered to me 15 months later. The reason why energy healing is wrong is because I was being unfaithful to the Lord.
Seeking out energy work is also a sin of adultery and idolatry. The person wants to pay for someone else to do the hard work, to tell them what they need to do, a quick fix that will heal us instantly. When we do this we are trusting in the arm of flesh instead of going to the Lord or Priesthood holders.
Pres Nelson said in April 2020 GC that the Lord loves effort because effort brings rewards that don't come without it.
Energy healers have become the middleman, trying to steady the ark. They think they are doing the Lord’s work but He doesn't need people to do His work for him, He just needs us to come to Him in faith and humility. Ask and you will receive, knock and it will be opened unto you.
When our HF and JC appeared to JS in the 1st vision, Christ told Joseph that ”the world draweth near unto me with their lips but their hearts are far from me, having a form of Godliness but denying the power thereof.”
What exactly is his power?
Are we living up to our privileges as members of His restored church?
The power to receive miracles
Th power to overcome ALL things
The power to change
The power to become as God is
Are we denying His power when we participate in energy healing?
When we access a different source to receive healing we ARE denying His power.
Where is our faith?
What is it in?
Is it in Jesus Christ or something else?
If it is in something else, it doesn't matter what that something else if, it's not God then we are denying Him.
Moroni 7:17
But whatsoever thing persuadeth men to do evil, and believe not in Christ, and deny him, and serve not God, then ye may know with a perfect knowledge it is of the devil; for after this manner doth the devil work, for he persuadeth no man to do good, no, not one; neither do his angels; neither do they who subject themselves unto him.
We are denying God because anyone can do energy healing without any thought of God. Pretending we are, by adding his name in the equation, does not make it so.
Elder Utchdorf said it just takes us to be one degree off and we will end up way off course if we do not realign ourselves with God’s power.
When we go to a different source to receive healing we are denying His power.
In Moses 5 17-26
Cain listened to Satan and made an offering unto the Lord. The offering itself wasn't the problem- it was who had instructed him to give it.
In Matthew 4:1-11
Satan tempted Jesus and said turn the stone into bread. This isn't a sin in itself, the Saviour could do that but it was who was giving the instructions.
The source absolutely matters. Satan doesn't care if some good comes out of energy healing, if people can actually accomplish some good. He is doing that intentionally as that is how he is deceiving the elect. They think they are doing good when in fact Satan is gradually leading them down to hell as he slowly takes Christ and His power completely out of the equation.
Satan's deception here with energy healing is to distract us away from priesthood power. If we are constantly researching and finding alternative healing tools and techniques then we are being led to focus our direction from the Saviour. They are a trap to distract us away from the one source of complete healing.
Energy healing is priestcraft. It is covetousness and pride.
2 Nephi 26:29 they set themselves up for a light to get gain and praise of the world
Healing is free, we just need to ask in faith. The church has free resources on everything we need in the Life Help section, how much do we actually access that? But instead we are willing to pay exorbitant amounts of money to have someone else do the work. We are willing to pay for their time instead of studying, praying, fasting and listening to the still small voice tell us exactly what we need to do.
Satan fell due to rebelliousness, which is a state of opposition against God. when we refuse to follow our church leaders we are pitting our perceptions of truth against God’s great knowledge. Our abilities versus God's priesthood power. This is pride and rebellion.
In 2017 Elder Ballard warned us…
"In some places, too many of our people are looking beyond the mark and seeking secret knowledge in expensive and questionable practices to provide healing and support. An official Church statement, issued one year ago, states: “We urge Church members to be cautious about participating in any group that promises—in exchange for money—miraculous healings or that claims to have special methods for accessing healing power outside of properly ordained priesthood holders.” The Church Handbook counsels: “Members should not use medical or health practices that are ethically or legally questionable. Local leaders should advise members who have health problems to consult with competent professional practitioners who are licensed in the countries where they practice.” Brothers and sisters, be wise and aware that such practices may be emotionally appealing but may ultimately prove to be spiritually and physically harmful." Elder Ballard 2017 The Trek
I ignored this warning.I was coveting money, worldly wants and pleasures. People were coming to me for help and I was helping them, it felt good. My ego loved it. But they were coming to me instead of to the Lord. We are participating in crucifying the Saviour by not accepting Him as our ultimate healer and redeemer. Energy healing is a false God and if we do not repent we will find ourselves in apostasy. I am SO grateful the Lord has shown me mercy and enabled me to return to the straight and narrow path before it was to late.
Update: Below was the link to the interview with Marco but just recently (July 2022) he felt prompted to delete his channel. He apologises for not reaching out and thinking to pass on the video. Thankfully I wrote this blogspot as a result of preparing to speak with him.
Edit August 2022: I prepared my own video testimony
I love this so much!!!! There is so much deception out there on social media and we must be so careful. Thank you for sharing your story and strengthening my testimony through your faith.
